Now that summer is in full swing, you'll no doubt want to make the most out of your outdoor space.
With this in mind, here are some great ways to bring the indoors out:
1) Alfesco Dining.
With UK BBQ Awareness Week taking place between the 5th and 18th of July, what better time than now to enjoy a delightful barbecue in your garden?
Fair trade food and drink and ethically-sourced accessories such as our handmade mango wood serving boards will ensure that your barbecue is kind to the environment.
Make things as comfortable as possible for you and your guests by decorating your garden chairs with some handmade Indian cushions and a sustainable wool throw on the lawn for the children.
After your first successful barbecue of the summer, you’ll be tempted to do it every week until winter arrives!
2) Garden Office.
Many of us are still working from home and, while you might have a home office inside, why not mix things up and work outside in the fresh air while the weather is pleasant?
You can set up a simple, garden office by choosing your favourite place outside. This could be under an apple tree, on your patio or anywhere else you find calming and conducive to working.
Once done, set your laptop up on a table and sit on a comfortable chair as you work alongside the birdsong and sounds of nature.
If you are the type of person who enjoys an attractive working area, you might want to beautify your garden by planting some colourful flowers or introducing some pot plants or succulants that you can display on a rustic plant stand.
3) Outdoor Workout Space.
If your exercise routine is simple and doesn’t require equipment that needs to be plugged in, you could work out in your garden.
Our beautiful and handmade Hammam towels perfect for practising yoga or pilates outside in the fresh air.
You could also use a handmade Indian cushions for support as you practice your muscle strength building exercises.
4) Entertainment Area.
The Covid-19 pandemic has given many people a new appreciation of their own homes and how they can use their space for entertaining friends and family.
If you are planning on inviting loved ones around for a summer lunch or barbecue, why not create an aesthetically-pleasing entertainment space one of our handmade Antique Brass box lanterns.
Serve your food in style by using beautifully handcrafted mango wood serving boards, eco-friendly baskets for serving bread and some sustainable glassware.
5) Garden Movie Theatre.
Instead of watching TV inside (which you can do at any time of the year), think about creating a garden movie theatre where you can watch your favourite, old films outside.
To do this, you will need a plain, white sheet fixed to your garden fence and a movie projector (movie projectors are widely available for hire).
Instead of boring, old popcorn, consider snacking on some fair trade foods that you can serve on one of our handmade wooden platters.
When the sun goes down, settle onto an eco-friendly throw on your lawn and enjoy the film!
6) Outdoor Craft Area.
If you have children, you will probably be looking for fun activities for them to do over the summer holidays.
Your garden is the perfect place to do some arts and crafts as any paint spills or messes will not matter as much.
Set up an arts and crafts table on your lawn and protect it with some old newspaper.
Your children can then get creative with some pretty recycled paper, eco-friendly paints and other odds and ends to keep themselves entertained for many happy hours.
