I am a HUGE fan of Kinfolk magazine and their new cookbook will be firmly on my Christmas list. If this recipe for Pulla (a Finnish bread flavoured with cinnamon and cardamom) is anything to go by, it’s going to be my new favourite.

I just love the flavours of cinnamon and cardamom and my mouth is watering just from looking at the pictures! Head over to the beautiful Kinfolk website for recipe (brownie points to the team for including both UK and UK quantities). Perfect for a lazy brunch, don’t you think?
hurrah, I was in Helsinki a few years ago and they had wonderful pastries in a bakery near the university flavoured with cardamom. I had at least one every day (on top of pulla at breakfast
) and I have searched on and off for suitable recipes without success, so this is a lovely gift. Will have a look at this recipe book which I didn’t know about. thank you.

Mmmmmm, sounds right up my street. I’d love to visit Finland one day.
The book’s out on 1st November in the UK but it’s available to pre-order on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kinfolk-Table-The-Recipes-Gatherings/dp/1579655327/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379339005&sr=8-1&keywords=kinfolk

Love a bit of cinnamon - and these look delicious! Will have to try them when I get a chance. Am off to Copenhagen for the weekend soon so looking forward to trying the Danish take on a nice pastry (or 10)!

Yessss Bethan! There’s nothing like Pulla =D Although actually, this is a sub-group of Pulla, called Korvapuusti. Pulla is the dough, it becomes Korvapuusti when you fill it like this =) Hope everything’s going well! - Ira W
